The Contact Type feature allows you to categorise users based on their role or job function - helping you unlock more meaningful analytics and better understand your audience.


What is Contact Type?

Contact Type is a customisable user attribute that:

  • Captures information about a user’s role or job function

  • Feeds directly into analytics and reporting

  • Helps you segment and understand your audience


Where can Contact Type be set?

You can capture and manage Contact Type in multiple places across the platform:

Registration form

  • Available as a dropdown field

  • Users can select their role when signing up

User profile

  • Users can update their own Contact Type at any time

CMS (Admin control)

  • Admins can edit Contact Type via:

    • User edit page in the CMS

  • Easily update or correct user information as needed


Add a Contact Type

Head to ONE Admin > Users > Meta > Contact Types

  1. Click '+ Contact Type' in the top right hand corner

  2. Add Contact Type Name

  3. Save

Assign a Contact Type

Head to ONE Admin > Users > Actions > Edit a User

  1. Scroll to 'Contact Types'

  2. Select one or multiple Contact Types from the list

  3. Save the user


Multi-select functionality

Users aren’t limited to just one role:

  • Multi-select is supported

  • Users can choose multiple Contact Types

  • Reflects more complex or hybrid roles
