User Genres

Understand your audience from the very first interaction

Written by Support

The User Genres feature helps you learn what your users care about - right from the moment they register. By allowing users to select their genre preferences during sign-up, you can build a clearer picture of their interests and tailor their experience accordingly.

What is User Genres?

User Genres lets you add a genre selection field to your registration form.

When new users sign up, they can choose the genres they’re interested in - helping you:

  • Understand buyer preferences

  • Segment your audience

  • Deliver more relevant content

How it works

Once enabled:

  • A genre dropdown appears in the registration form

  • Users can select one or more genres that interest them

  • These preferences are stored and can be used to enhance their experience

It’s a simple way to collect valuable insight without adding friction to registration.

Setting up User Genres

To make genres available as user preferences:

  1. Create or edit a genre in your CMS (as you normally would)

  2. Enable the option 'Available as a user preference'

  3. Save your changes

That genre will now appear as an option in the registration form

What users will see

During registration, users will see a dropdown field where they can select their preferred genres.

This allows them to personalise their experience from the outset - while giving you meaningful data to work with.

Why use User Genres?

User Genres helps you:

  • Gain insight into user interests and trends

  • Improve content targeting and recommendations

  • Enhance user engagement from day one

  • Better understand your buyer audience
