Video Watermarking lets you securely provide video downloads to logged-in users while embedding unique identifiers in the video.
When active, videos downloaded from the programme page will include a watermark showing the user’s email address and user ID, helping protect your content and trace any distribution.
How it works
A logged-in user visits a programme page and clicks the Download button on a video card
A pop-up appears asking if they want to generate the video.
The system re-encodes the video with the user’s email and user ID embedded in the bottom right corner.
Once complete, the user receives an email with a download link to the MP4 file.
If a user downloads multiple videos, they will receive a separate email for each video.
Important details
Website only – This feature applies to website downloads, not streaming or iPad app downloads.
Video expiration – Downloads expire 7 days after generation. The email will include the expiry date.
Admin control – Administrators can disable downloads for any video. If disabled, the video cannot be downloaded by any user. This is done via the video’s Edit modal.
