What are Qualities?

Qualities indicate the resolution or format available for a programme, such as 4K, HD, or SD.

Assigning qualities helps users know what type of viewing experience they can expect for each show.

How to access and manage Qualities

  1. Go to ONE Admin > Programme Management > Qualities

  2. From the Qualities screen, you can:

    • Add a new quality

    • Edit an existing quality

    • Delete a quality

The order of qualities displayed on the front end follows the order they are added in the system.

Adding a new quality

  1. Click + New Quality

  2. Enter the name of the quality (e.g., 4K, HD, SD)

  3. Click Save Quality

Your new quality is now available to assign to programmes.

Editing an existing quality

  1. Click Actions > Edit next to the quality you want to update

  2. Change the name as required

  3. Click Save Quality

This updates the quality across all programmes it is assigned to.

Deleting a quality

  1. Click Actions > Delete next to the quality

  2. A confirmation warning will appear

  3. Confirm to delete

Once deleted, a quality cannot be restored, so ensure it’s no longer needed before removing.

Tips:

  • Plan your qualities first
Decide which resolutions or formats you want to offer before adding them to avoid unnecessary edits or deletions.

  • Use clear naming conventions
Stick to familiar terms like 4K, HD, or SD so users immediately understand the quality available.

  • Order matters
Add the most common or preferred quality first so it appears at the top in listings.

  • Check programme assignments
Before deleting a quality, make sure no active programmes rely on it to prevent broken information.
